Bournemouth Pavilion has officially come aboard as a sponsor of this year’s Shake & Stir Vintage Festival, cementing its role as a key supporter of local arts and culture.

The two-day seaside celebration of all things retro returns to Southbourne on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June, promising music, dance, fashion, food, and family fun inspired by the 1920s through to the 1970s.

Run by a community interest company, Stir Events, Shake & Stir has grown from a grassroots gathering into a much-loved fixture on Bournemouth’s events calendar. With themed music stages, classic vehicle displays, retro market stalls, dance workshops, and entertainment for all ages, it’s expected to draw thousands to Fisherman’s Walk once again.

This year, Bournemouth Pavilion has pledged support to the community event as a Bronze Sponsor, helping to cover the rising costs of event infrastructure, artist programming, and accessibility. Its support will also help raise the festival’s profile across the wider Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas.

But the relationship between Bournemouth Pavilion and Shake & Stir isn’t new. In 2022, Bournemouth Pavilion hosted the Destination Management Board’s Tourism Awards, where Shake & Stir scooped the Event of the Year prize.

Their 2025 partnership builds on that connection with a shared goal of bringing vibrant, inclusive events to the community.

On behalf of BH Live, Laura Sackett, Marketing Manager, said, “Bournemouth Pavilion provides year-round entertainment including comedy, music, West End productions, opera, and more. As a continuation of that work, we’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Shake and Stir Vintage Festival. With a focus on music, entertainment, and local audiences, supporting the event felt like a natural fit.”

Mandy Polkey, Managing Director at Stir Events CIC added, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Bournemouth Pavilion on. As one of the South’s most iconic venues for live performance and culture, their support means a great deal to us and to the local community.

“This partnership not only strengthens the festival’s connection to Bournemouth’s vibrant arts scene but also helps us deliver an unforgettable weekend of vintage music, dancing, and family fun. We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our shared love for live entertainment.”
