Schools from across the BCP area and wider Dorset region have booked to see April’s weeklong production of Blood Brothers. There is now only a limited number of student tickets available for the in-demand matinee performances.
A cornerstone text for GCSE English Literature, there has been an exceptional demand from English and Drama departments eager to give their students the chance to experience one of the most powerful and curriculum-relevant works in modern theatre.
Arriving at the Bournemouth Pavilion from 14–18 April 2026, matinee performances on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 April have a limited number of student rate tickets available.
Zoe Delany, from Atlantic Academy, Portland who have booked to attend the show, said;
“For our students, seeing Blood Brothers live is an invaluable extension of their classroom learning. Experiencing the production right here on our doorstep - and at such an accessible price - makes it an opportunity we simply couldn’t pass up.”
Written by the acclaimed Willy Russell, Blood Brothers (Bill Kenwright Ltd Production) offers rich educational value as students explore the themes of social class, fate, nature versus nurture, and violence, as well as its memorable characters Mickey, Eddie, Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Lyons. Teachers recognise how live performance deepens understanding of the play’s structure, language, and emotional intensity.
The musical tells the heartbreaking and gripping story of twin boys separated at birth and raised on opposite sides of the social divide, only to be drawn together again with tragic consequences.
Nicola Coney, BH Live Entertainments and Events Manager said;
“There has been a great reception to the show and we are so pleased that schools are coming and sharing the thrill and passion of live theatre with their students.”
April’s run brings a first-class West End cast to the Bournemouth Pavilion, promising a powerful theatrical experience that will enrich students’ analysis, empathy, and cultural capital.
