Danny Deegan

News Story

With the confidence and swagger that you might expect of a North-West comedian at the very top of his game, Danny Deegan is a comedian, writer and actor who has become a regular at most of the major comedy clubs in the UK since he began performing in 2003.

Danny’s tales of mischief and the characters he creates have kept audiences all over the country enthralled as he weaves in and out of the people he has met traveling. His talent and likability coupled with his confidence make him one of the most popular acts in the North, a master at dealing with a tough crowd, and an act that promoters always turn to when booking gigs. Danny is a seasoned headliner and MC, and was a smash hit as the headline set for Green Man festival in South Wales with 400 people in the comedy tent going wild. Then Danny was asked to wrap up for Manchester band “The Doves” after their headline set in front of 12,000 people.

Away from live work, Danny has made several radio appearances:, from being a guest on Radio GMR to having his own show “Afternoons with Danny Deegan” on CAT FM in Crewe, whilst his TV credits include appearances on “Made in the North” and “The Adam and Shelley Show” to name but two.

Danny has also provided tour support for Chris Ramsey, Mick Foley, Dave Spikey & Paul Sinha as well as performing in Switzerland.

Aaron Simmonds has been failing to stand up for 32 years; luckily he is far better at comedy than standing up. He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people’s belly buttons, which gives him stories to tell, and a sore neck.

He’s been described as “a comedian going places”

Places that are wheelchair accessible

Aaron’s comedy demonstrates expert storytelling, whilst packing jokes and opportunities for mirth into every moment. A comedic style is story-based, with clever one-liners interspersed throughout. He offers sharply-observed comedy which is grounded in his disability, but is by no means limited by it. Amiable, likeable and with a commanding presence on stage, Aaron is an exciting talent and is destined for great things.

Aaron also has cerebral palsy and is a professionally-trained personal trainer, as well as a former international basketball player and world champion powerlifter.

It detailed a complicated relationship alongside the absurdity of “competitive disability”. Some people have got the idea, he explains, that because of his upper body strength and background in sport, he is “not disabled enough”.

“a superb storyteller.. a confident, sparky, smiley presence onstage, it is easy to see why he is an award winner.. This show has the most beautifully constructed and the most unexpectable narrative line of pretty much any I have seen. There are twists and turns and in every single one there is a laugh.. a perfect lesson in how to deal with the terminally patronising, this hour belts along on wheels of laughter.” – ★★★★The Scotsman
