News Story

Visitors and residents are invited to experience a sparkling season of legendary musicals at Bournemouth Pavilion, with unforgettable experiences guaranteed.

Taking centre stage alongside the venue’s bustling programme of comedy, music and cultural performances, this spectacular line-up brings a true taste of London’s West End to the venue’s historic stage.

The season opens with Willy Russell’s captivating tale, Blood Brothers(Tuesday 14–Saturday 18 April 2026), a gripping story of twins separated at birth who meet again with fateful consequences. The production ran for more than 10,000 performances in London’s West End, one of only four musicals ever to achieve that milestone. The superb score includes songs such as "Bright New Day", "Marilyn Monroe" and the emotionally charged hit "Tell Me It’s Not True".

Next is a totally ‘fetch’ production of Mean Girls(Monday 1–Saturday 6 June 2026). Direct from the West End, Mean Girls is the hilarious smash-hit musical comedy from an award-winning creative team, adapted from the iconic 2004 film written by Tina Fey. Starring TV personality, actor, and Steps star, Faye Tozer*, alongside Emily Lane as Cady (Frozen, Starter For Ten) and Vivian Panka as Regina (Dear Evan Hansen, Heathers), expect iconic characters, razor-sharp wit, and killer songs.

Audiences can then step into a world of wonder with Barnum(Tuesday 16 June–Saturday 20 June 2026). Barnum first took the UK by storm when it played the London Palladium, with Michael Crawford making theatrical history with a death-defying nightly tightrope walk across the stage. Now, West End favourite and TV star Lee Mead takes on the tightrope, featuring the glorious multi-award-winning music from Cy Coleman, Michael Stewart, and Mark Bramble.

Summer continues with the sunniest musical of them all, MAMMA MIA! (Tuesday 28 July–Sunday 2 August 2026). Returning to Bournemouth Pavilion by popular demand, this feel-good sensation follows Sophie’s quest to discover her father’s identity on a dreamy Greek island on the eve of her wedding, all set to the timeless hits of ABBA. Joyful, uplifting and packed with singalong moments, it’s the perfect summer treat.

In August, Bournemouth welcomes back AUB (Arts University Bournemouth) alumna and West End favourite Evelyn Hoskins, joined once again by Les Dennis, as they reprise their much‑loved roles as Dawn and Old Joe in the heartfelt 10th anniversary tour of Waitress (Monday 24–Saturday 29 August 2026). Warm, witty and wonderfully empowering, this beloved musical follows Jenna, a gifted pie maker longing for a fresh start, as she discovers friendship, courage and hope in the most unexpected places.

No Bournemouth Pavilion season would be complete without its annual pantomime, and this year’s production of Aladdin(Saturday 5 December 2026-Sunday 3 January 2027) promises the perfect festive finale.

Step into an enchanted world where a humble boy discovers a mystical lamp that unlocks unimaginable power, sending him on a whirlwind journey of danger, love and laugh-out-loud mischief. Returning for his 12th year, Bournemouth panto favourite Noel Brodie stars as Wishee Washee, bringing his trademark warmth and wit to a show packed with spectacular sets, sparkling costumes and plenty of “Oh no it isn’t!” fun for all ages.

This stellar 2026 line‑up reinforces Bournemouth Pavilion’s role as a cultural hub for the region, attracting major touring productions while offering residents and visitors a chance to experience West End quality close to home.

Written by the award-winning Gina Gionfriddo and directed by the acclaimed Nikolai Foster, this adaptation drips with tension, bringing you closer than ever to the iconic thrills and terrifyingly memorable characters of the landmark novel.

At last, not to be missed in the heart-pounding and breath-taking stage adaptation of Dirty Dancing(Tuesday 11–Saturday 15 May 2027).
