Join us on Friday 16 January as LOL Comedy Club takes over the Pavilion Ballroom. Bringing top comedians to Bournemouth. This month's line-up includes Mike Cox, Wendy Wason, Irish McMahon and MC Damian Larkin.
Mike Cox has quickly made his mark on the comedy circuit with his his sharp wit and everyday cynicism which have seen him crowned winner of the Fosters South Coast Comedian of the Year, while he reached the final of Amused Moose Laugh Off 2016 both the semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny in 2012 and The Leicester Square New Comedian ofthe Year in 2013. Mike’s accessible style and ease with both mainstream and alternative audiences currently make him one of the most enjoyable comics to watch.

A Scottish actress and comedian, WendyWason launched her comedy career in 2004, getting to the final of Funny Women and semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny at the Edinburgh Fringe the following year. She was already an established actress with roles in Coupling and the IT Crowd, working with everyone from Chris O’Dowd and Nicholas Lyndhurst to Johnny Depp and John Malkovich. February 2014 saw Wendy nominated for best actress in Hollywood for British Hustle, the Toscars spoof.
Wendy has performed across the globe, including countries such as the USA & Australia. She has provided tour support for Katherine Ryan, Shappi Khorsandi & Tatti McLeod. Wendy has performed an incredible 5 solo shows at festivals across the UK, winning best show at the 2016 Guildford Fringe.

Irish McMahon is an aptly named funnyman hailing from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, and despite his success as a comedian,n is still a current serving Officer in the Royal Navy. Irish has three children and a Lancashire wife, who all provide great material for his set. He is a storytelling comic that weaves all aspects of his life into his stories, taking the audience on a journey of fun and laughter. Irish joined the Royal Navy in 1997 as an Air Engineering Officer.
Mechanic. He has served on HMS INVINCIBLE, CORNWALL, BULWARK and twice on our newest aircraft carrier, HMS PRINCE OF WALES. Irish has always had a love for stand-up and gets to as many live shows as he can. After years of a life full of jokes, his wife dared him to step on a stage and try it himself. The rest ishistorysAs he’s now rapidly in demand all over the UK.
Irish says: ”Comedy is instantaneous feedback; if your joke works, the crowd laugh, and laughter really is the best medicine.”

Damion Larkin will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect. There are no genuine comparisons to this man. He is a versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more. “Industrious in rotating his material…which is warmly and intelligently told” Chortle “One of the country’s top new acts” BBC (this was years ago,o so now he’s just one of the country’s comedians! haha).
